‘Shift’ is a word that can imply different things. To ‘put in a shift’ is, in sporting terms, generally a compliment, just reward for hard work and perseverance. Much like the feeling at the end of a great road ride. Elsewhere it might suggest, in the words of a certain Mr Cruise, the need for speed – to ‘get a shift on’. We think both apply to our new flagship carbon road bike, the Pearson Shift.
The successor to our much-loved Minegoestoeleven (thank you, Spinal Tap), the new Pearson Shift is a thoroughbred race machine, a carbon aero bike designed for winning but just as suited to ticking along in the middle of a group ride; elite speed, everyday rideability. The aerodynamic frameset benefits from improved aero tubing, including a deeper downtube.
Boasting Pearson’s class-leading optimised geometry, the streamlined aesthetic includes a bulked-up front fork, while an aero teardrop seat-post houses a Fizik Tempo saddle. Dropped rear-stays ensure stiffness while reducing vibration and the one-piece carbon handlebar-stem offers exceptional handling and clean lines.
Shift features ceramic headset bearings, whose lifetime warranty means they won't need to be replaced (we’ll still check them during your Pearson service). The bike also has a T47 bottom bracket, improving both frame stiffness and performance and riders can choose from three Di2 electronic groupsets.
Carbon deep-section rims are allied to Sapim CX-Ray spokes, to reduce drag but remain stable on gusty rides. There is clearance for 700x32c tyres and Shift comes fitted with Pirelli P-Zero TLR race tyres.
