Starting in Menaggio follow the lake road to enjoy beautiful views of Lake Como, and idle through the quaint villages along the way. Take in Lake Lugano on the Italian Swiss border before tackling the main event of this ride, the Passo della Cava, 11km long with an average gradient of 8.4% plus an 11% sting in the tail before the summit.
Rejoice and refuel at a wonderful hilltop restaurant before the descent, knowing that all the hard work is done, descend like a demon for a cold Birra Moretti at the end.
