Inspired by the tools of the trade of our founder, Tom Pearson, the new Hammerandtongs is made from durable, lightweight, high-modulus carbon. Updates to the 2021 edition mean the new ‘Hammer’ (Mk. 6) has plenty in common with Minegoestoeleven, our flagship carbon road machine. So, while it features Pearson’s higher front end for comfort, we’ve improved frame gains, thanks to aero redesigns of the down tube, seat tube/seat post, head tube and forks.
We’ve also updated the seat stays, so they now run from the seat tube to the drop outs, providing uninterrupted flex for both shock absorption and a cleaner, aero profile. The all new Hammer has a two-piece, integrated bar, as well as fully integrated cables.
A state-of-the-art, Hoopdriver Tooth and Nail wheelset features 50mm deep-section rims. The wheels are made from unidirectional carbon, with a ‘wavy’ finish to reduce the impact of both front-on drag and crosswinds. Alternatively, select our Cut and Thrust wheelset and we’re confident you’ll be impressed by their perfect balance and exceptional performance. Hammerandtongs has clearance for 700x32 tyres, both wheelsets are tubeless ready. We also offer an excellent option in DCR wheels, handbuilt on sealed bearing alloy hubs with 30mm depth tubeless ready alloy rims.
Shimano Ultegra hydraulic brakes guarantee efficient, reliable stopping. On the electronic version, the excellent battery life not only lets you rack up the miles, but also means you only need to recharge two or three times a year.
Quick thoughts: “The Hammerandtongs has always been a popular model for our customers. In our latest iteration you can have the looks of an out and out aero race bike, with a position more associated with sportive bikes. We focus on comfort and speed, often a solution to many a customer’s bike and fit requirements. We have maintained versatility with a broad range of gears hung on an amazingly light frame, so hills up and down are well managed, especially with sublime braking from hydraulic discs. Now in its sixth iteration, the ‘Hammer’ is a definite crowd-pleaser.” Will Pearson.
